I Will Go Back To Herding Cattle If I Lose - Museveni
President Yoweri Museveni, also NRM 2016 flag-bearer, says he will go back to his 'job' as a cattle keeper if he loses next year's presidential election.
Museveni made the promise while addressing journalists at the Arua State Lodge as he concluded his campaigns in the region.
While referencing to his campaign's message of prioritization, the incumbent further faulted his nemesis Kizza Besigye (FDC), particularly on his ambitious promise to pay teachers UGX1 million. Museveni maintained that Uganda needs to work on 'permanent things' namely infrastructure, first.
Museveni: "Besigye wants to give all money to wages. A dam, you build once."
On the Mayombo report, Museveni said: "The report is there. Mayombo died a natural death which was clear. His late father saw the report," adding "If you want us to publish Mayombo report, we can publish it, it is there."
The report became an issue when Go Forward's Amama Mbabazi challenged government to release it, eight years since Brigadier Noble Mayombo's sudden death.
During the briefing, the president also defended the credibility of the Electoral Commission referring to them as 'fair'.
Museveni: "If the Electoral Commission is biased, how is it that I lose in some areas?"
The commission has come under fire following the temporary deferment of the mayoral nominations.
QUOTE: Museveni: "East Africa must unite to form East African Federation. If I can contribute to that, I will."
