THE Chinese Ambassador to Tanzania, Mr Lu Youqing, has inaugurated construction of Ngonga Water Project and donated study, sports and cultural equipment to Ngonga Primary school in Mbeya Region.
Ambassador Youqing inaugurated the projects during his recent tour of Mbeya Region and Tanzania Labour College.
The Ngonga water project upon completion is expected to solve the drinking water problems that have been troubling the village for decades.
More than 204m/- will be invested in the first phase of the project, which is co-donated by the Chinese Embassy in Tanzania, Chief Military Expert Office of China in Tanzania and also some Chinese companies, while the Ministry of Water will provide follow-up support.
This project was undertaken by Shanxi Construction Engineering Corporation and Mineral Company. As for the educational supplies, Ngonga Primary School has been assured of provision of vocational technical training assistance in a bid to improve their employment capacity.
The study material donated are worth 34m/- whereas the local government commended the Chinese Embassy for the support.
