Kenya Begins to Construct Wall along Border with Somalia over Terror Attacks
Interior Cabinet Secretary Major General (Rtd) Joseph Nkaissery.
Kenya will this week start constructing a wall to separate it from Somalia as part of efforts to contain terror attacks.Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery said the construction will start this week.“Mandera and Bulahawa are almost merged and you cannot tell which is which. Now we want to put a wall at border point one and close the border. That will reduce the porous border entries into our country. We will be starting the construction of the border next week,” said Nkaissery.
Mandera Senator Billow Kerrow welcomed the move but argued it is not a long-term solution to the problem in the area.“He is admitting there are terrorists operating there and not bandits as he has been claiming. We hope it will help in containing the problem,” said Kerrow. He added it would be difficult and expensive to construct and man the more than 200 kilometer long wall at the border. The Senator challenged Nkaissery to come up with long lasting solutions that can help in containing continued attacks.

When there was a flood in this country 2012, everybody panicked, President Jonathan didn’t panic, people said there was going to be food crisis. I remember I went to him, I had my detailed analysis done, Mr President people are telling you that we are going to have food crisis, I said; No, you didn’t choose to shock we choose our response
The President had that day on his desk quite a lot of people that had sent him letters asking for waivers to bring in food and flood the country with food. The President didn’t listen to them and he called his Minister of Agriculture, that is a great leader and he said can we survive? Do you think we are gonna survive?
Mr. President, I said, we can survive if you help us to do dry season rice. I gave him the plan, he took his pen, he used his green pen and he cancelled every single one of those things on his desk asking for waivers. He said Akin as he normally calls me go get the job done.
Today he launched dry season farming program the first President in the history of this country to launch a program for National dry season farming, so we can produce food during the main season, food during the dry season.
Obama Says Doesn't Text or Tweet, Jokes about Driving in Kenya
President Barack Obama doesn't send text messages, rarely composes his own tweets, and isn't allowed to have a smartphone that contains a recording device, he said on Thursday.
And don't ask him for Hillary Clinton's email address. He won't give it to you.
"I do not physically tweet in general," the president said in an interview on the ABC program "JimmyKimmel Live."
"I don't text. I email. I still have a Blackberry," he said.
Obama said his teenaged daughters had smartphones and exchanged text messages with their friends, but he was limited for security reasons from having the latest technology.
"I can't use phones with recorders in them. So a lot of the new fangled stuff, for security reasons, I don't get," he said.
In a reference to the email controversy that has dogged Obama's former secretary of state, host Jimmy Kimmel asked the president if he had Clinton's new emailaddress.

US, Britain Speak Out on Corruption Crisis in Kenya
Foreign diplomats have told the government to pursue all top corruption suspects if it is to tame the monster that is threatening to devour the economy.
This comes as constitutional and economic experts say integrity laws should be strengthened to tackle the crisis.
US Ambassador Robert Godec, his Swiss colleagueJacques Pitteloud and British High Commissioner Christian Turner said the Kenyatta administrationshould find and prosecute the masterminds of corruption-related scandals.
The diplomats spoke in the wake of the “MPs for hire” scandal that has rocked Parliament.
Graft-related issues have also surfaced at the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission where top officials are clashing over cases under investigation.
Claims have been made of top officials secretly meeting suspects on the agency’s radar while others have been accused for delaying investigations in certain high profile cases.
Also in the spotlight are Cabinet Secretary for Energy Davies Chirchir and top electoral commission officials, including Chairman Ahmed Issack Hassan, over the “Chicken” scandal.
World's first successful penis transplant carried out in South Africa
Source: The Telegraph
South African scientists have announced the world's first successful penis transplant, helping a 21-year-old who suffered an amputation following a botched traditional circumcision three years ago.
Professor Andre van der Merwe, head of Stellenbosch University's Division of Urology, announced details of the "ground-breaking" operation at Tygerberg Hospital in Bellville, Cape Town.
The nine-hour operation, which involved the attachment of a penis taken from a donor who had died, was carried out in December. The results were announced on Friday after doctors confirmed that the recipient of the donor organ has made a full recovery and is sexually active.
Mr van der Merwe said the recipient, whose identity has not been revealed, had to have his penis amputated three years ago after developing complications from a traditional circumcision.
